Associates

Our associates provide the solutions that make our customers successful, and provide the service that make our customers loyal.

Recruiting
Ferguson recruits at over 100 college campuses nationwide. We look for qualified candidates who will be taught the business inside out. We look for detail oriented and conscientious people with a personal drive to be the best.


Training
We invest heavily in their development. For example, associates earn professional certifications from the Institute for Supply Management. Our training program has received the American Eagle Award for Corporate Education from the Industrial Supply Association.

Every new associate attends eight hours of customer loyalty training, where real scenarios are discussed and role plays conducted. The associate then learns from web-based instruction each week to continue honing those important skills.

Operational training is tracked and competency assessed to enable the associate to become a fully functional member of the service team.


Mentoring
An important part of the associate’s ongoing development. Associates are matched with a senior associate so they can learn from the mentors’ experiences and gain from their insight.
